Rear suspension transverse link bush?

After much searching and reading up on poly bushes versus rubber bushes I ordered the (OEM) parts I need from LR Series (and bought some big spanners and a can of GT85 from Halfords)

Hi did you have any luck with this?

I have the clunk and the vehicle turns left or right same single clunk, I have replaced the watts linkage bushes, the anti roll bar links seem to be ok all the rubber bushes are ok.

Running out of things to replace now.

Thinking it might be the ace system? Possibly the bush where the ram mounts.
should there be any movement in this mounting if so how much?

get under the car and feel around all the suspension joints whilts someone rocks the car to make the clunk

you should easily be able to locate it

have you changed the bushes on the chassis end of the rear panhard rods?

Sorry guys - I haven't driven it off a cliff - I forgot to post an update until Discoburgess reminded me!

A good soaking in GT850 made the bolts easier to undo but they are still very tight - you need the right spanners and decent sockets. Having undone the bolts and removed the whole linkage from the Disco I got the old bushes out using an old socket and a hammer.

The only really tough part of doing the Watts linkage yourself is pressing in the new bushes. I did the smaller ones by putting them in the freezer overnight, greasing them with copperslip and then pressing them in with a socket and a long bolt with a couple of metal plates as a home made press.

The large centre one was beyond me and I gave the local garage a fiver for pressing it in using their large hydraulic press. If I did it again I would get them to press all the bushes in. Getting them out was much easier as you don't have to worry about damaging the old ones.

If you have the right spanners & sockets it's worth a go.

I would expand on that and say strip the link yourself and then take the see-saw arrangement to a local garage and 3 new bushes and exchange a tenner for the job. It's a quid a minute job, but better than ****ing about for an hour and damaging your sockets!! :D
