Hi folks,

I was doing me bearing at the rear as I had an oil leak at one of the hubs and so replaced seals as well. It turns out my stub axle had no inner seal as so I went to order some.

The correct part is FTC951, but this has been superseded by FTC3145 which simply does not fit as it is way too large.

Is there an alternative to 951? my vin is JA622 and most seals are for post JA624 with ABS - which I do not have.

Axle change at any time? Earlier rear stub axles aren't shown as having them at all.
Have a look through RRC on here:

ETA. If you have a look through Brit-car's website they give dimensions of things. BUT FTC951 appears there as superseded by FTC5268 and FTC3145 which are both shown as being the same size & which you have already said don't fit.

it wont have a seal in the inner side of stub, have you not got 2 seals in the hub, inner and outer

Yes I have and both replaced with bearings and they seem to do the job just fine. The Microcat said there is a seal on the inner stub, but it appears that is only for ABS models (perhaps).

no its nothing to do with abs, hubs were sealed from axle by the outer hub seal later they removed that and fitted a seal in the stub

Thanks James. It's just weird that the Cat had a seal for my vin, but as I've found out my vehicle was one of the last 1992 models before upgrade so it is put together a bit weird. All seems fine now anyway.
