110 Salisbury disc brakes.
Had a diff oil leak into the wheel bearings and eventually making a mess of the outer wheel. Rear hub seal replaced along with all other seals and gaskets this was a while ago just can't remember when.
It never cured it unfortunately so I'm having another go at it today. I have the same seals/gaskets in my useful spares stash that I used last time I was doing the job.
Everything looked like new still but what I didn't notice last time is that the hub to axle casing seal does NOT fit snug around the half shaft, it's too big by at least 3mm and has no chance of stopping diff oil getting past and into the wheel bearings.
Pic showing the part number and the seal position in the stub.
Local indy says that is the correct seal and now I can't get back there to wave the hub at them.

I'll have a look-see.
I 'think' I may have used the half shafts from my old drum brakes Salisbury, definitely used the old drive flanges off the braked one I remember that. I got the disc braked axle off eBay maybe 10 yrs ago and I think it had no halfshafts so I used my old ones.
Thinking that's my problem.....

No raised polished bit.
I'll go measure the shaft and seal best I can and report back.
I've had a memory recall...
Axle WAS complete but drive flanges were badly worn, my new(at the time) drive flanges off my old drum axle wouldn't go on because the disc shafts were too long? Or too short? Fitted drum shafts to get round that. All drum axle parts were scrapped years ago.

Cheers James:)
I'm pretty sure I'll need the correct shallower drive flanges too though.
It was around 10 yrs ago but I'm fairly sure the disc braked half shafts were too short to get the circlip on using my (new at the time) drive members. I swopped the shafts so I could use my drive members not realising at the time, or not noticing, that the raised polished bit was absent on the drum braked shafts, so here we are.....
Britpart shafts and drivemembers ok quality? I don't abuse my drivetrain but want to avoid cheese metals:rolleyes:

Just to update-
Drum braked and disc braked Salisbury half shafts and drive members are different.
Disc braked shafts are shorter and the drive members are not as deep as the drum braked parts. Drum braked shafts do not have the slightly thicker and polished part that the seal runs on, hence my leak.
New shafts and G spec drive members fitted and all is tickerty boo.:)
Thanks @jamesmartin
