Rear Shock Absorber Replacement

So I need to replace one of my rear shock absorbers (its leaking a lot),

is it worth doing both at the same time or should I replace as a pair?
Also, do I need to be wary of the length of the new parts to allow for the 2" lift?

From searching already. I know I'll likely need to WD40 the fook out of the top mount threads:rolleyes:
 
I'd recommend a new pair of lower locknuts too......if they don't already come with the new shocks. I've never been able to hold the shock enough to take them off with a spanner, the No 1 Angle Grinder for me...... (Or I guess get hold of a bigger set of stilsons....??). Easy job tho - and def both at the same time. Cheers, A

To hold the shock absorber for the lower nuts, else I have a set of nut splitters (no point faffing about with seized nylocs as they should be replaced anyway)

Springs and shocks should always be changed as a pair same goes for brake components

As long as you are replacing I prefer these, have had the rubber ones slip if the nuts are seized on well enough. They are however even more brutal than a normal mole grips so if you wish to refit them after you need to take greater care.
