ive been having a quick look on line about removing the rear propshaft donut as I have a 2" lift.

Is it worthwhile using a tdi front prop onto the rear or is keeping my prop and getting a new donut good enough.

Ouch, seems a bit pricey that.

Is it a normal procedure to remove the rubber donut on a 2" lift ?

And will a v8 prop be noisier ?

If you go to the expense of a genuine cushdrive/rotoflex coupling then it will be fine on a 2" lift for a long time and you can do several genuine parts ones for the price of that kit.

Don't be complacent of the propshaft and be conned into thinking it is a fit and forget solution as UJs need regular greasing and they also fail.

I've been running with the standard doughnut and propshaft on a 2 inch lift on our manual TD5 for the last 6 years & only had to change the doughnut once, after 4 years of monthly off-road trials competitions. I'd guess it was at least 2 years old when I bought the car - judging by other servicing / maintenance.
Doughnut life's obviously going to be partially linked to transmission abuse & probably better on an auto.

I did wonder what the rubber thing with the holes was for lol
Tis new if anyone needs one :)

I nearly posted somit else but just realised its not anything goes :D

You wanted to brag about it being your Saturday night party favour

How does the D2 get on in the RTV trials?

I bet it's actually quite good with the TC and HDC :)

Dieseldog69,
It's great fun, but there's obviously challenges with the width, length & weight as I'm generally competing against Defender 90s! .
Occasionally our events get the odd D1 & RR Classic, but they're all smaller on width & lighter, so I have to work hard to do well.
ABS & HDC almost never used, but TC occasionally allows very spectacular 1 wheel air moments with a tyre 18 inches or more off the ground - lol.
On slimy ground it can turn into a very heavy sledge sometimes :)
