Why oh why has this happened to me! Nightmare!

Ok well here goes. I bought myself the new toy in March 2008, a Disco series 1 300 tdi. Ran very well but had some issues with rust...and had no play kit on it. So i took it off the road (SORN) not the fun type, and lifted it by 2 inches, put some mil spec 7.50's on her and painted her orange. Smashed a winch on the front and a steering guard and finally some home made rock sliders which worked wonderfully. So by boxing day i had pushed it through its MOT and i was off on Salisbury plain with a crew from chippenham where we started playing. We had a great day, but it got to the time that i needed to poke off home, so i drove back he same way we had come, through the same puddles and "BANG" i ended up drinking most if the puddle and i slammed a con rod into the block. Say goodbye to engine No 1. As i was then away from home for 3 months skiing, the truck stayed at the parents house when i realised that an engine change was needed, and drove across the country to pull another engine out a dead (MOT FAILURE) disco, but still a 300 tdi. I got it back after a solid day of pulling it out, and then lifted my old and bent one out. Whilst my new engine was out, i changed the timing belt and the crank rear oil seal. When i then installed it, it started ****ing out oil from the bell housing and realised that i had another show stopping problem. Then i went to Afghan so it sat, uncared for for another 6 months. Now i am back and my first job was to lift the engine out again. It was out in 5 hours doing it myself, and with the new seal on order i was happy as larry. First seal arrived, and it was a 200 one....sent it back. I decided that i could not wait so sent my mother into Land rover to pick up a genuine part. When it arrived it had been damaged and so was again sent back. The new one took a day to arrive and was over the moon when it arrived this morning in my hands and have just ran to install it. Following the Haynes Manual to the letter, it went on, but as i was torquing up the bolts i had one shear (25Nm) so the seal has come off, completely understanding that i now need a new one. (I tried to put it on again but there was a gaping hole of about 2mm where i could see the inners so knew that it was fooked.) Over all i am having real drama's, and i only want my rover back on the road so that i can join all of you at cool meet's and show off on how not to treat your rover. Can anyone help me? A detailed step by step guide would help, and part numbers as i need to get some bolts too.

Your help will be magnificent!

Thanks mate, very helpful. What i have subsequently discovered tho is that the genuine part (LUF1004300) actually has a problem with it. The Seal guide actually opens up the seal to much and deforms it oversize, not allowing the seal to actually make the seal. All in all i fitted it by removing the plastic guide and i will let you all know 2mrw when the key striked the ignition for the first time.
