Hi all just a quick one, fitted a new 300tdi rear crank shaft seal today via the the plastic guide it comes with , problem seems to be once it’s pushed on the crack the seal is no longer tight on the crank , it’s like the plastic tool has stretched it to much

Or does this shrink bank in time, any input welcome

Cheers

You jogged my memory of a discussion I had a while back on these or I may have read it somewhere. People struggling with the seals, even genuine, leaking. Consensus was to go with the turner engineering seal.

Hi there, if it’s any help I did this a few months back. Got my seal from turners and the sealant too. Worked a treat. Plastic sleeve thing was a fiddle but it works fine. Now my old 90 has one less leak 😎

Cheers for the reply’s did you notice it was loose after fitment? And did the seal shrink back round the crank?

Hi, no it wasn’t loose on mine. Bit of movement mind but no leaks. Think your best buying original parts and the sealant turners use instead of a seal. All fine on mine.
