New here, after some help. Just done the classic of breaking the cover of the rear light assembly only to find you need to buy a whole unit to replace the plastic cover. Two questions: 1) Is it at all possible to buy and replace the plastic cover? 2) If not, how easy is it to replace myself if I buy a replacement complete assembly - i.e. unscrew bolts, connect wiring up etc.? Any help greatly appreciated.....

Take it you are referring to a P38 ?
Does it have the later "Clear" type lenses or the older red & amber?

No, you cannot buy the lens separate...only the complete lamp.
The older Red & Amber type are as cheap as chips on Egay or from a breaker, the clear type are also availablesecond hand, but chech the price of a new one first on Rimmers website for comparison.
Replacement is a piece of cake, just a few nuts, unplug the loom and the lamp just pops out. You will see the location of the nuts through the access opening at the rear of the car.

Thanks very much - it is the clear lens; have found it cheapest new at Jaguar | Land Rover spare parts at British Parts UK - £138 + VAT. I appreciate your advice on fitting - have been quoted £200 +VAT from a landrover dealer for lamp and fitting so think I'll give it a go myself.

On another matter, the headlight washer arm is stuck in vertical - any ideas; I assume motor gone......

Once again, thanks for the advice, great forum - just what the internet should be about!

£138 + VAT for one lamp ??????????? I think there is something wrong there...sounds as though that is the price for the complete conversion set.
Is it the lamp on the wing or the tailgate,is it LH or RH?
Let me know and I will double check part no. & price.
