Rear indicator multiplug 200tdi

Where does the multiplug that the rear indicator in my 200tdi 90 connects to live? How do I get to it?

The lamp has been playing up for a while now and I've scrapped so much corrosion off there's not much left. Time to replace it

The wires are behind two covers that sit on top of the wheel boxes at the back of yer motor and under the windows

Look for green+white wire on the o/s or a red+black on the n/s... or just follow the indicator wires back tae where they plug in

Ah. Are those easily accessible with folding seats in place?

Ah don't think they'll be too bad, might be two screws on the bottom and a bolt or summit going through the tub. Can't say for sure as ah don't have seats in the back of mine

Just gone to take a closer look and I'm not sure it's so simple. Got to remove the folding seats (fixed with some lovely brown coloured bolts), and then peal back the carpet (which is glued down and horrible to remove).

Perhaps it'll be easier just to make do with the ends of the wires that are there once I remove the lamp?

You shouldn't have carpet up there! If you look right into the corner of the tub, it's the triangular section. I had mine off today for the exact same reason. There was one screw (should have been 2) holding the bottom lip down and then a bolt from the outside of the tub through to the inside with a nut securing it in place. Remove those and the section just lifts straight off. Then follow what Buster said. There are a few wires passing through a rubbery grommet so make sure you get the two correct wires when pulling them out. The earth wire is in a kind of block connector along with three other wires and then a wire from the block to the chassis. They are simple plug type connectors so it'll pull straight out. Easy job.

Oh, and you'll find that if you look behind behind the rear wheel on the side you're working on, there's a soft flap which you can lift up in the arch / tub area to reveal the wiring between the rear panel and the bottom of the tub where it enters the wiring box.

I'm not entirely convinced that the carpet I've got came from the factory It completely covers the boxes that the seats are bolted onto. Of course it's also possible that I'm looking in completely the wrong place. Maybe I should take and post a photo

Spotted it, "cheese" shaped box. It's not even screwed on, should be able to wiggle it out later. Thank you.

Mine only has one screw, and the wheel boxes are the original ones - guess they were running short on screws on that day in 88, or maybe the person who put the second one in was on strike that day
