rear high tailgate light

hi all rear high tailgate brakelight not working got a feed to it went to change bulbs and looks like its a sealed unit.do i have to buy a new lens or is there a way of changing bulbs

Sealed unit I am afraid.....

Not to badly priced but still megaloads more than a replacement bulb....Have heard prices in the region of £50-65 or so....

Great Job - sorry for the bad news above - but atleast you know have a good bit of kit to help out in those moments of bum twitching warning bongs!!

Try eBay for a second hand unit from a breakers

They only go for about £20

I'd be looking at prising it apart and fitting LED's

They already are LED's
Infact all the break lights on the l322 are led !
Only the best !! Lol

Easily identified by the instantaneous operation

Makes me chuckle knowing my 2002 l322 had led break lights before the 2005 sports did

Only the facelift 2010 sports only just have LED's now



Mine has full led clusters on the back now from the 2010 range rover and I'm currently in the process of fitting the whole rear exterior design pack from the 2011 autobiography

Sounds unlikely, LED's should out last the car and as the high light is a multiple light source unit, it's very unlikely all the LED's would fail at the same time.

Oh bugger the left hand side of my Hi-Level stop light has stopped working

How easy is the unit to remove ?

I think it can be removed OK...but you may find it is a sealed unit!

I read its a sealed unit ! - 60 quid plus vats worth of sealed unit - lol

+1 mine failed(well parts of it did) £60 ish had to remove top cover on tailgate to change it easy
