Sadly after closer inspection my poor series 3 will need a new rear half chassis, as unfortunately you can't weld to swiss cheese! :(
I was wondering if anyone had going spare or new of a supplier who didn't want silly money. Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks Tom

I think M M have them on their website for a couple of hundred quid - doesn't seem too dear compared to the price of a whole chassis.

Yeah MM were the best value I found so far, they are looking like the one to go for.
Saw that chassis on ebay, just seems a shame cause mine has such a solid front end and of course I got to get that down to me if I won it - I had someone suggest that i could could cut the rear half flush, and the weld and strengthen with plates to save doing a full swap, but I'm not to sure how much structural strength would be retained if you did that, correct me if I'm wrong guys??

but this chassis is in better shape and he can cut a section out and re-weld it and have a better chassis than he has now, and have a set of spare axles he could keep or sell and recover most of his costs
