Hi,
Recentley the rear diff blew on the wife' Freelander 1 (215,000 motaway miles).
When I got it the air, diff was shot to bits, but I also noticed the left rear shaft was out by 3- 4 cm which was allowing oil to leak. I put a low milage second hand diff in, renewed the clips on the end of the safts and put back together...
I have found that the shaft is still popping out of the diff, which allows oil to escape..
So, do I renew the shaft, as it migh be worn, or is it the diff mounts allowing movment,or tyres as suggested in some threads, or Iam I just clutching at straws, and should just renew everthing at the back with that mileage..
Any pointers before its introduced to a box of Swan Vesters :violent: as I;am loosing patience with it.
