Hi everyone,
I have been looking in for a while and have just joined up, I am hoping that someone can give me some advice.
I have a series 3 109 which is in pretty good condition but the rear door has rotted away.A friend has suggested that I should replace it with a Defender door which could then have a heated window and wiper. Is this sensible and is it a straightforward replacement ?

Hi G man ,
Thanks for the reply. I will have to start looking for a Defender door now.
Does anyone on here have one or know of one for sale?

I have a defender door you can have. If you want it. it needs a bit of weldig where the weight of the sparewheel has cracked the frame in a couple of places but it's reasonably OK!! and won't take much to sort it out.

Thanks for your replies,
I am based near Winchester I don't know if any of you are around that area.
I will look at the Ebay one and will hopefully make the Sodbury sortout.

you can get repair bits fer rear door from paddocks. you chop out the old rusty parts of frame and replace with noo stuff then get a sheet of ally fer the door skin.
the repair parts are meant fer the door bottom but it has the same profile as the rest of the frame.

buy three and that should be enough fer to repair most doors

I got a door frame off flea bay and have fitted a rear window with heater. I used dumdum putty and found it hard work. Has anyone got any advice about using this as I have another window to fit soon.
