rear door modifications

hi there,i am new to this,i have just bought a 2000 freelander 1.8 xei and i was wondering if it would be possible to do a modification to the rear door.would anyone have tried this already,making the rear door into a normal type door where the glass and the rest of the door are one unit and operate as a single unit.the door rubber removed from the car bonded to the glass some sort of strenghtener put on the door to help support the glass the electrics disconnected and the door just used as a normal door. if this is a possiblity or has already been done by someone else i would like to know how to do it ,thanks drumac.

Not not currently leak proof as it is. Getting the mod leak proof at speed could be difficult, if you still want to be able to open it.
