So after having a big flight case on wheels come unsecured in the back of the landy and go flying into the rear door and hitting the locking tag on the lock, the pegs on the locking swivel inside the rear door lock have been smashed into bits!

I have one of the old style locks from circa 85-86 where the striker goes inside the lock when shut, which I'm told are virtually imposible to find, and have been sent a new style lock with the bit that enguages with the striker on the outside/side of the lock (swivel bit)

The rear door is about 4 years old (new one)

My question is simply: how dificult is it going to be to fit the new style lock onto my door - i know i'm going to have to replace the striker as well, but should all the holes line up on both parts (the new lock seems a lot bigger than the old one), and is the new striker going to be a simple un-bolt, and replace or going to need welding/drilling.

Many Thanks

james

Why not just buy an old style (I'm assuming its the anti burst type) lock and do a straight swap?

I've no idea what new type of lock you're talking about and photos might help but no there shouldn't be any welding, its all nuts and bolts
