Hi all.

The lock on my D2 (facelift 2004) rear door (tailgate) has been temperamental for a while. Initially it would only unlock when pulling the inside handle, but the door would then only open when pulling the outside handle.

It now won't unlock at all. I've had the inner door card off, drenched everything in WD 40 and fiddled with all the levers and cables, but nothing will get it open. I'm resigned to fitting a new actuator, but how the hell do you get the door open in order to fit it??!

In case anyone was interested, I managed to release the deadlock using my nanocom. Lock still malfunctioning, but at least I can open the door now to replace it.

Mine did similar. I was able to remove trim with door closed. Once trim off I opened by pulling cable with hand. The plastic clip the attached cable to handle had snapped.

HI, i'm very interested, how did you release a stuck tailgate superlock motor with nanocom? Cos if it was not stuck and nanocom activated the motor then it should have worked with the fob or key in the driver's door too as for all the other(rear and passenger) doors once an unlock command was received by the BCU but if the motor was stuck AFAIK not even the God of nanocoms would have helped IMO... that's why i'm asking

Hi sierrafery,

I tried selecting the lock/unlock buttons on the nanocom and could feel the lock actuator vibrating, but to no avail. I then turned the superlock on and off again, and that's when I could get back to the "original" problem of unlocking (not opening) using the inner handle, but opening the door from the outside. I'm not sure of the technical aspects of why it worked. Maybe I was just lucky??

Maybe!
Mine gets temperamental and the other day I got so fed up of it I banged the plastic part above the outside handle with my fist. The plastic broke!
The door opened then!
Blasted thing.
