P38A Rear Door Latch

Hmm, it seems my right rear door isn't locking properly. The latch motor does the right things when I lock & unlock the car, but the door button doesn't go down properly & the door stays unlocked. If I lock it manually & close the door then the door is locked. Unlocking works fine.

Do we reckon the latch is on its way out ? Or simply something else ?

I guess I'm gonna have to get out the rivet drill !!

Think looking is the answer. Miggt be a mix of worn cam and loose where the rod for the handle connects so it isn't lining up quite right and making too much resistance.

Is your linkage sticking a bit and motor not strong enough to take all way down ,hence it locks when you manually push down. Have known this happen in past. Try giving linkage a good lube with spray You never know, might get lucky
