P38A Door latch replacement

Hi I keep on getting error alarm triggered rear passengers door I’ve been told the latch needs changing is there videoed ok how to change latch/lock or and guides

Might be the latch, or could be the loom where it flexes between B post and door or a dodgy connection. Unusual for the rear latches to fail.

what exactly does the error alarm say? "rear left door open"? i take it this is on the dash?

Yes beeps every so often stating door is open but it’s not

So I sprayed cleaner on the latch and seemed to work for a little bit however its come back again

Cleaner will do nothing for the switches which are sealed micro switches, however it may be that the mechanism is stiff so lubrication may help, 3 in 1 spray for example NOT WD40 which leaves a deposit.

Seems to be latch related can’t seem to find a replacement. Also can’t find anyone near West Midlands who would do the job either.

One of the P38 facebook pages, he is a very trusted seller he may have a replacement and is very, very quick.
You can also buy replacement micro switches, Marty use to do replacements on here but I think he has gone back to New Zealand
