Hi All

I have been having some problems with my rear discs on my 200 Discovery TD5

I have changed the rear pads on both sides and found that the guide pins were stuck so I changed them, after a week I have noticed that I have rust building up on the face of the disc

I had a good look at the caliper that was working fine the only thing I could see a problem was a lot of play in the caliper carrier where the pins slide, I have changed the caliper carrier and I am still getting the same problem

I am unsure if the new carrier has a problem as one side had some play in and one didn't

Can some one help

I have just had the same problem with mine.i replaced what i thought was a working caliper with a new one off ebay £35 inc carriage. and a shiny new caliper carrier. and now working fine rust coming off disc a treat now.

The weird thing is that there was no problem until I changed the pads and pins and the rust is only on the outer face of the disc the pad is only touching on the top half of the disc, The wife will be so mad :mad2: if I have to buy new callipers as well god help me

I'd refurb the pistons and seals in the calipers before buying new, easy enough job, if a little messy. Parts cost about a tenner ...
