hi peeps,

Quick question....I just wana know if it is really bad to fit Non-genuine diff seals and diff mounts instead of the expensive genuine ones!!
Supply+Fit Gen is £430 and supply+Fit non-gen is £280!! With either having 12 months guarantee from the garage.

Are non genuine perfectly fine?? Thoughts please!!

Quality parts are always advisable. For seals... I prefer LR parts. I'm happy to use aftermarket or better still OEM parts for those less critical areas.
Diff mounts: I have heard that some aftermarket ones don't last long at all. It is a bit like those very cheap VCU bearings where you may get 3 to 6 months running with them!

Good luck.

I fitted a £48 pattern bottom pulley over 20,000 mile ago on a td4 thats done 180,000 plus miles now.
Quoted £340 for a genuine one, same motor had a new pattern Pinion bearing and seal in the diff over 30,000 mile ago
and the 2 rear diff mounts £280 for parts and labour.
Im sure others will not have had the luck i have though.
