Whilst my 2006 TD4 was in the garage having viscous bearing replaced (under warranty as it was replaced in June last year and had only done 10,000 miles) I was told I need a new CV joint on the rear as the gaiter had split, the grease had departed and the joint is kaput - could explain the intermittent clacking noise I have had for a few months!
Was quoted £254 to replace it (non franchised garage) and told the part is only available from Land Rover.
Anyone know if this is correct or if quality parts are available from other manufacturers? Have seen complete CV kits - joint,gaiter,grease - on e-bay for £20!
