I just wondered if anyone knew If Clive is still doing cross members
I came a cross a website about Clives cross members and do seem to remember something about being back in business but I could be wrong

I bough one from Clive some time ago with the intention of getting it fitted but local Landy garage want silly money for welding fitting

Did think about doing I myself but I'm not a welder really and want a strong job as I tow a lot

Keith

Here is his contact details (also known as 'Pressbrake' on here so could try a PM). He fitted mine a couple of years ago and to coin an expression it does exactly what it says on the tin

Well spoke to Clive and was very abruptly informed that he no longer did them due to it not being financially viable and he was sick of working for minimum wage money,,
It is a real shame as I'm sure people would have been happy to pay the going rate for quality workmanship , I know I would have ,,

I got a really good one off of someone doing similar stuff to clive. I believe the guy i bought off opted not to do it anymore for similar reasons to clive - Cant remember the name of the company but i had to chase and chase because they dragged their heels struggling to get an order to make it commercially viable to make a batch of X members.,

but when Paddocks are knocking out the ****part crap xmembers for about 85 pence you can see why folks doing 200 quid ones (that actually fit) struggle. Its a shame because it is a really good quality item well made , straight and not made from monkey metal.

People who are not fitting their own dont appreciate the difference between a quality item and the tin crap that the ****part xmember is made out of - they sent me out one and i sent it straight back without fitting - the extensions werent even aligned so it was going to be twisted before i even started. before going to the other lad - spent about 350 quid on 2 outriggers and a rear xmember - i expect the stuff ive welded on will be still be going long after the main rails have totally rotted out.

I refuse to help fit paddocks crossmembers now - its just not worth the hassle.

Oh Bol*@#cks,

rang Clive a couple of years ago and am getting round to do my rear cross member and wanted the winch one that he did and was going to contact him soon but best I not bother and start looking elsewhere
