Hi,
I am soon to fit the replacement black sheep cross member
I notice the bottom of my chassis legs that are due to be chopped off have mounts for the rear anti roll bar and also the bottom brackets of the tow hitch bolt onto the same mount
Am I right in presuming that I will need to cut the mount off and weld this onto the new plates once they are welded on ,,

You dont need them if you have no anti roll bar fitted
Im not sure if my pressbrake x member came with new ones or I reused the old ones?

Yes I have anti roll bars fitted front and rear but its also the main mount for the bottom of the towing stay bar

I do have 2 small shaped brackets with 2 holes drilled in each but are way to small to be for that ,, not quite sure where they go yet either lol

Don't suppose anyone has any pictures of this area after the new x member has been fitted.
I have trawler the pictures but can find any that actually show this area in detail

I'll take some of mine over Christmas, You can cut the side plates if your rear chassis is not shot !

I think it may have some rot in the bottom which is right where these mounts are so I'm guessing I will most likely need to cut v that section off but will soon know when I start chopping
Your pictures will be most help full thank you

island 4x4 do what they call a 1/4 chassis - it stops just before the spring mounts. I've just had my rear replaced so I will get some pics later and post them too

here you go - ignore the dirt - you can see the join.....

Thanks for the pictures ,
I have also had Clive contact me and now I know what to do..

So thanks to Clive and your pictures for clearing things up .

I've got two brand new rear chassis rails (just the rail box section from the middle of the car back, nothing welded on at all. I had to buy a new chassis because I only wanted the front half...

If you want them (free) I'm just over the border!

Thanks for the most generous of offers ,,
I will bear it in mind should the rot be worse than expected .
