I have not noticed much talk on here about the rear posts either side of the back door, all the ones i have seen are rotten, mine have rotted through both top and bottom.
Has anyone on here replaced them ? I assume the rear quarter panel needs removing to gain access to them, and possably the roof.
This and the A-frame balljoint were all my disco needed when i laid it up, it will probably now need a lot more than this but i'm scared to look and have to start somewhere.

buy another car i am going to as mine has same propblem plus others apart from doors none of the underneath looks like it would be possible to remove all rot

Had a quick look at it today and i'm amazed that it does not appear to have deteriorated further in the past few years its been sat there. This has now encoraged me to get it fixed, has anyone removed the rear quarter panels as i intend to get in there and either replace the posts or patch them !

You should get yourself a copy of the Rave workdhop manuals as they show in detail how to remove and refit the quarter panels, corner panels and also the "E POSTS" that are behind them. Makes interesting reading.

Thanks for the advice,
Any idea where i could get a copy of the relevent RAVE manual, i found one somewhere on the net but it would not download fully and i have been to sleep since then and cannot remember where i found it !

Do a search on here, it was asked about a couple of days ago too by somebody.

I have you need to completely strip the interior out of the rear of the vehicle and undo every screw and bolt that's holding the panel on. as well as the screws you can see on the outside when the rear door is open you also need to remove the glass and seal. Then you need to get a very long flexible blade. An hacksaw blade sharpened to a razor sharp edge on a grinder. is best, wrap some tape round the base to save ya losing ya fingers. Then whilst gently pulling the panel away from the vehicle reach behind with the blade and cut thru the panel sealant that is also holding it to the vehicle. If you can get a helper it's a lot easier as they can cut the sealant from inside the vehicle.
