Hi all,
My rear chassis is bent upwards due to hitting my tow bar one too many times I think, I've since removed the tow bar but cannot open my boot as the chassis and bumper has well and truly wedged it in.
Any advice on bending it back down?
I've tried a very big hammer but I'm presuming ill need heat and a method of pulling it down.
Thanks
Alex

Ive had the bumper off and it's definitely bent upwards!
I guess I'll check those body mounts next
Cheers

Pictures might help others to 'check' ..

... 'course, no-one will take the mickey .. ;)

is the bit bent up body colored? because thats not the chassis, its the part along the back that the mounts are attatched to, this is the only bit that i can think of that will stop your boot opening

I believe some laughs are in order.

I would say rear body cross member has collapsed and the body has sunk , mine has done the same and next weekend im gonna have a crack at doing it with some box section and fab up new mounts and so on, which brings me to the question- any suggestions on box section size? i have read 100x40, 100x60, 60x30 and 60x 60 as suggestions i was just wondering if anybody had any real life answers-ie has anybody actually done it and what did you use?
