Disco 1 Rear brake pads

Are there different types of pads? I bought these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111697822862 for my '94 TDi, but the ones that are on have holes for the split pins to go through, similar to these http://www.jgs4x4.co.uk/land-rover-defender-110-130-rear-brake-pad-set-mintex-sfp000280.html.

Have I bought the wrong ones or has someone fitted the wrong ones?

there are 2 types of pad those as in your first link were pad has a tab are for split pin calipers and those as in second link were pad has 2 holes for solid pins, pads with holes and split pins dont go together so if you have them someones got the wrong pads

The pads you have bought are the correct ones and yes someone has fitted the wrong ones, but as the calipers are the same they are often used as a bodge on worn calipers where the correct pad could be loose or even fall through.

So assuming your calipers are okay all you need now to fit the correct pads is the pad fitting kit STC8574. http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/brake-fitting-rear-sfp000270-britpart-stc8574-p-2411.html Job done.
