rear brake cylinder

can any one help? I went to replace the rear of side brake cylinder on my x-mod lwb series3 but I think the cylinder I have been given is imperial instead of metric is this possible ?

Yes it depends on year of build. They went metric in the early 80s if not before, best to take the old cylinder in with you. One other point it could be that a previous owner has made up pipes with differing fittings but unlikely.
