Earlier today, I took my 110 and a m8 took his Disco offroading. We were soon encountered by a sandy slope, starting shallow and going up to what must have been coming up on 50 degrees. We each tryed it, neather sucseeded :( , but anyway;

Both vehicles suffered the same abuse but the Discos rear half shaft snapped. I know the 110s rear axel is physicly bigger, but does it have bigger/stronger half shafts? If it does, the Disco could realy do with them, theres not much difference in weight.

They should have put them on Discos too, this particular disco has been a nightmare. My friends had it less than a year (it was perviously a city run around), and its broken more times than its started, particualy having problems with the rear axel when the going gets tough.

Thanks, ill foward that link to him. Anyway I would back the statment the 110s rear axel is near invincible. Ive dragged my 110 all the way round Wales on its rear diff, twice, and though ive stightly re-shaped the bottom of it and its drain plug, it still works and doesent leak. Who needs diff guards? :D

OK, so maybe i need a diff guard :eek:

Nevr had any trouble with my 110's salisbury but having said that never had any bother with disco axles either. I'm planning on putting a disco back axle with disc brakes onto the 110 soon in fact.

It is definately cursed!:mad:

although droping the rear on its axle definately doesnt help
Luckily the half shaft broke right by the hub so should only be a 10min job to replace it

i know our sailsbury axle took a massive impact from a rock step greenlaning in surrey it basicly come down it on the axle but it never done anything to it went to slindon the next day and it still survived and now half a year later still seem fine and still gets abused:D
