Hello all,
Just bought a very clean 54 plate TD5, couple of niggles as expected (I am used to Land Rovers having had a Disco 300TDi, Defender 300TDi and a Series 2a)!
It is a late model with a comprehensive history and I see that the nearside rear air spring has been replaced 4 years ago but not the offside. It stays at the correct height all day long, with the compressor only running occasionally. The last two evenings I've gone to get something from it and the rear offside has sunk right down, fairly quickly once I've opened the door.
My question is are the interior light switches involved with the air suspension i.e. does opening a door tell the ECU to lower the suspension slightly? Its just a suspicion I have. I plan to change both air springs very soon (Paddocks have Dunlop ones on special offer!). I'm sure I've read of this before. I seem to recall that as the spring lowers, it folds over on itself and opens up any perished holes.
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks, Julian.
