The sat nav in my 1997 HSE is struggling. It is the early one with 3 buttons and a CD reader. I have done a search but I can't find the answer I am looking for. I need a replacement disc. I know the sat nav is pants and not worth bothering with, but I just like everything to work....yes I know it's a P38. I have looked on Ebay but the discs are for later types. Any help would be gratefully received.

Why not take the opportunity to upgrade it? Take the old screen out, get a bit creative and permanently mount a small Garmin/TomTom in the slot?

Be easy to get power from the existing supply, you'll have up to date mapping and touch screen to boot!

Hi,
I’ve the same sat nav like you (3 buttons) on my P38 (1998). Mine is a Carin 521.
Here a link to a web site listing all carin sat nav:
CARiN / Dayton software version overview

In 2010 I ordered a map cd from Tele Atlas for my nav selecting on their web page the 1999 model. They sent me a VDO Dayton map cd which works fine on my carin 521.
Tele Atlas has now been absorbed by tomtom. You can find the the Vdo Dayton cd on their website by selecting Car navigation (pre-installed) and then Land Rover, 1999.
However I’ve no idea if it will works on your sat nav. As the cd is quite expensive I would recommend having a compatibility confirmation statement by the seller before purchasing.

I bought an update from a place in germany. 8 or 10 euro. Cant remember right now. They were on ebay.

John
