really need some help!!

right basically can you take the thermostat off a td4 freelander without taking the water pump off? the thermostat is located on the water pump housing. any help at all, i need to know quickly and honestly if you can get the bugger off! thanks in advance!

I have an l-series so i'll check me haynes manual.......................
it says that the 'thermostat can only be renewed once the coolant pump has been removed'.

thats probably the case then do you think? not a way to get round it?!

Took a good look at a TD4 yesterday and would guess that the engine mount would have to be moved and the engine jacked slightly even then access is tight for easing the thermostat housing off the coolant hose.

really need some help!!
