hi all ive had my freelander for about 2 months and been having probs "read my other thread" i got very fed up with it been so flat so thought i would put another engine in only to find out the one i removed was a 1400cc so wouldnt pull your for--in back the words ive been had spring to mind new engine in and just about 99% right so be warned all of ya:doh:

If I were you I'd check it's got a propshaft (if not, you were proper shafted)

Hope you haven't fitted a k-series! ... if so you better get the 1.4 back in quick

The early 1.4 heads are identical to the early 1.8 heads, same valve size.

Look on the bright side, you could fit a 1.6 & it'd feel brilliant compared to what you've had though it'd still be a K-series. Maybe old BoB has the right idea in this case. Where is he anyway, I really do miss his usual one-liner repeated over & over & over........................................................................................................................................................................NOT

The K series also came as a 1100 and a 1600, so it could have been very worse, or slightly worse. Rover were said to be working on a 2.0l K before they went for a Chinese.....

I wonder what fitting the K Series to all of their new cars is going to do for Chinese economic growth? I did read that they said that they'd fixed the HGF failure issue, but they've sold so few of Chinese MG's here that it's probably impossible to find out....
