Ok, thinking of building a 130 tipper with galv chassis etc and got to wondering due to the prices of donor 130's it would be easier to get either a 90 or 110 then rebuild on a 130 chassis.

But, how do you stand with the log book? I know you can get a 110 uprated from a 3 ton to a 3.5 ton, but what about chassis length?

Cheers, Pete.

It can be done , but your opening your self up to a world of pain ,with brake calculations etc.
When Ive done things like this before Ive paid a truck camper calculation firm to do the paperwork.
Also I would start with a 110 doner and register as a 3500kg then convert to a 130 as you are not messing with weights and brake calcs and in effect doing a chassis stretch that just needs a sva though the model name will remain 110 on the logbook.

id would have hought your only issue would be that it probably would get a q plate ,i would start with 110 as donor brakes and suspension ,fuel tank etc are the same, the only bit you cant get round is that the chassis is altered from original 110 ,we have done as few 130s and 100s over the years and some havent bothered informing which is no problem unless they have an accident in which vehicle gets inspected, good bit is that it is just stretched 110 and proving correct parts is easy
