Been away from here for some time. My rust bucket D1 project unfortunately got binned whilst moving location! My defender was traded in due to high mileage requirements. Then there was covid and all the madness that came with it.
Fast forward a couple years and I’m settled. I kept a few bits from my D1 project that were easily packed and always hoped to get another. Weird as I got rid of anything else I didn’t use!
Taste has changed. I want a totally standard one. One that I can take my time with and slowly bring back to its former glory. Each to their own but no lift kits, no metal bumpers, no tints, no snorkels, nothing. Just hoping to create a time warp.
I’ve barely lurked on here. Kept an eye on eBay etc and missed out on an absolute minter (albeit the price was too high).
Logged in on the off chance and saw @RAW111111 had what I wanted. I used to follow his RRC thread and knew from convos we had over PM that he was a good egg. We chatted and I hope to pick up his D1 at the end of the month
I don’t know who’s still here who helped me in the past…
dieseldog69 seems not to be but I see @Hicap phill @JohnM70 @kevstar @madhatman? @Shippers @Disco1BFG @Henry_b and others are still here which is great to see.

Despite the loss and cost of the first D1, I learnt a lot from it in regards to welding and fab. Very excited to have another 90s sh*box to smash my knuckles and burn my arms on.
