Hi, I knocked my driver's wing mirror against another TD5 while driving down a narrow lane and the glass popped out. It's still intact but I can't get it to hook back onto the plastic clips inside the wing mirror casing - any tips?!

I fitted a new one of the wife's car a while back and if I remember correctly the way I did it was to hook the two inside hooks first (the ones nearest the car) and then gently pressing the middle of the mirror with the palm of my hand to spread the load, I moved the mirror slightly to the right and back, so that I could hook the left hand fixings in place.

Harder to describe than to do to be honest.

okey dokey.. think the reason i cant do all the left right stuff is because the glass is broken and i would end up with hands like sliced spam..i thought i could just cover the broken mirror with the sticky back type, after i had put it back in.. think ill try it with gloves on,if not then ill just buy a new one... cheers guys..

glove trick worked a treat... no lacerations, and can now just buy replacement glass rather then spending £700000 with landrover! nice one.

following this story, my td5 electric nearside wing mirror is intact but somehow it has lost its positioning lock, and is now able to lift up on its post, how can i split the wing mirror itself to see if i can fix it, is it glued together or is it clipped,
thanks for any replies
