While driving home yesterday I noticed a fluttering out of the corner of my left eye. I looked more closely and thought "Hell, the passenger door is not latched properly and its bouncing". Stopped in a lay-by to go close it and discovered the door was shut ok but the glass was wobbling around "loose" in the mount. Tried to push it back but it would not re-affix. I couldn't undo the connectors of the wiring as they need a tool to push detents in, so I ended up taping it in place and folding the mirror in for the journey home.

Is there a trick to replacing the glass, or has the plastic frame snapped or something?
I cannot see any "newly broken" plastic edges in there at all.

Thanks for any info folks.

You will need the plastic retainer. Even if it is not broken now it will be when you remove the mirror, even using the correct method, they get brittle and break. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-STC4625

I suppose it's good for drying hands?? How are you doing?;)
Changed the front brake pads today, feels like the system needs bleeding again.
I don't like petrol engines these days, they have those nasty sparky things and they misfire. Changed the rotor arm, distributor cap, leads and plug caps (they were only 33 years old:rolleyes: ) and it made no difference:mad: Waiting for new spark plugs:(

Was this on the MR2?

I've an xjs final edition at ours.
The owner complained of a broken alt belt.
Both the water pump and alternator are seized.. not been turned over regular enough.. the water pump is re-buildable I think? MR2, Good old Jap engineering:cool:

The MR2 doesn't get enough use which I'm sure is the cause of the problem.
