Re-fitted Propshaft

Just fitted a second hand prop to my Freelander and first drive out in it i heard a knocking noise - sounded like it was rear drivers side but could just be rear in general.

I plan on driving it a bit more to see if it goes away or gets worse...

Check VCU, support bearings and diff mounts.

How? Wiggle them?

Support bearings and diff mount you can. There's a thread by Hippo or Mad Hat Man on here that will explain how to check the VCU.

O.k - Bearings didn't look too good. So prop is back off. Bearings removed.. Whilst off I'll check VCU see if it has some resistance... (tomorrows job).. Then to re-fit new bearings (also tomorrows job)..
