Death wobble on my R reg( 300tdi Disco 1). started at 100.00 miles (1) I have fitted New tyres (2 ) new steering damper (3) new swivel bearings fitted on bench (4) new CV drives (5) Heavy duty Shockers (6)New Wheel Bearings (7) had it checked by Landrover expert found every thing ok . still wobbles when leaving Motorway & stops at about 40Mph. I think the only way to cure it is to sell it

Considering he int introduced hisself and he dint actually ask for any advice, I will say it's the loose nut behind the wheel that's his problem.

Looks like you've answered your own statement.

there no good on a bench y'know! they should be on your motor!

I feel you pain buddy: been there and cured it! http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/s-t-me-pink-bad-wobble-problem-176753.html

There is one thing I'll ask, did you put all the shims back on when tightening the swivel pins up?

if so, you put on too many!

you should have 3 shims, start with the 2 thickest and the thinest and tighten the pin back on.

with the steering arm/track rod off the swivel housing, you should be able to apply enough force to push it back and forth without having to obtain a hernier nor be able to push it with one finger, nice happy medium of force.

if too loose, take the thinest out of the stack and put in the thinest you got with the kit, retighten pin.

if still too loose, just use the 2 thickest.

if too tight, add more shims.

MORE SHIMS = LOOSE

LESS SHIMS = TIGHT

Also remember to top swivel back up with SWIVEL GREASE (AKA 1 shot grease), not EP90!

another thing you'll want to check is the pan-hard bushes, get them changed.

when you've cured it, change your bearings again! they'll thank you for it!
