P38A Rave

Sorry I am a beginner on this forum and put this on the wrong 'starter' forum. I have a few small questions which I will now post.
Rave.....know what it is but so many seem to have difficulties downloading it. Before I start(mine is a Mac) what's my best approach? I have a huge workshop manual so is Rave any better?

RAVE and the Mac get a lot of questions....the other half has a MacBook Pro.....I may do a video over the weekend and see if I can get it to work then post it on the 'tube....similar to the one I did with Windows....May even do a Linux version too and see what happens....

I had to use a version of RAVE that had been made for the Mac - this was supplied by a member on here called @pwood999 so all credit goes to him.

I downloaded the latest Adobe Reader and installed that....then downloaded from his link the RAVE zip file.....extracted that and double click to open the 'welcome.pdf' file and this worked....

It is biased toward the NAS spec vehicles, but it will pretty much be the same for the UK spec, and as I show in the vid, it even shows the steering system for the righ hand drive cars anyway, so it is all there.

Sorry for no commentary, but I can't find my mic, but should be self explanatory.

Great explicit video and thanks for taking the time but I can only get so far. The zip file opens in Google drive and I can see PDF Welcome but Abode does not appear on the list of 'open with' apps. Abode is downloaded. Must have missed something but not a clue so far. Help.....

So you downloaded the .zip file to your downloads folder (or similar)?

This should then extract a new folder called RAVE into the folder that the .zip file is located in....

Are you sure you installed Adobe? the file download from Adobe is just an installer file, you will then need to run that to install Adobe Reader....have you done this?

Yep. Ironically have already used it to read train ticket file. I will look at how to post an image of my screen and get back later. Don't want to waste your time chasing tails.

Oh dear. Apologies. I did not see the download icon for the welcome file and I was assuming that it would be visible at that stage. Live and learn I guess. Anyway all is now revealed and many thanks for your time. Off now to learn how to post pictures and then basket weaving!
