Rattling noise in engine bay at 1000-1200rpm

Hi

When it's idling (just under 1000rpm) it is fine, no noise at all. At about 1000-1200 rpm there's a rattle, it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side footwell/engine bay. I've checked the exhaust heat shields, everything in the engine bay is secure, prop + diff are fine.

It also does it while creeping in reverse.. I can't think what it could be.

I dropped a 10mm socket in the engine bay a good 6-8 weeks ago but I assume it has fallen out while driving.

I think you assumed wrongly - it's still there.

it is rolling around on the undertray, or in front of the radiator.
