I treated myself to a Raptor dash.... Landrover Dash Console from Raptor Engineering | Dashboard Accessories | Landrover Accessories at the indoor show in Stafordshire yesterday.

Was havin a think today about the 3 main gauges to buy and fit.... Volt meter and 2 others... not sure which yet.

One thing I have I have noticed is of course.. I will lose my existing rear wash/wiper switch, cig lighter and in my case, the rear work lamp switch. Now... my rear wash wipe does work

I am guessing that with it being a twist to put wiper on and push for water on the same switch I need to keep it and relocate it?? Any ideas please?

If you want to add what 3 gauges and links to places that sell them that would be appreciated :)..... am looking at McGill motorsports for plasma guages or digital as recommended by the Raptor guy. They look good for £20 each....... or do they???... cheers:)

You could wire in any switch combo you want. the wash would be momentary where the wiper would be standard locking, if you wanted to virtually any switches can be used.
The gauges i would put in would be Oil press. Boost. and oil temp.

there is no reason why you can not use them for both. have the wipe on one then the wash on another, just means instead of a spring return you have to stop the wash coming.

If it looks right (and works) and you can use it without danger. then it is right

Good idea thanks..... just have to think it through.... 6 switches in total seems a good number but they will soon get used up :D... At the moment going with oil temp... oil pressure and volt meter for my 3 new gauges. Cant see what use a turbo gauge would be to me?...... its running well and I can just hear the turbo whistle slightly. Or am I missing something?

i always liked to watch it going up and down.. other than that it is not really much use. the three you have are very good choice though, to cable in the switches, according to my haynes you will require 3 on off switches, due to the different speeds, you could potentially have just off and full speed or search fleabay for a suitable looking switch to suit.
i would be tempted to have intermit. and full speed. two switches. three including wash.

light green, black wire = washer pos
Red, light green wire = wiper pos
brown, light green wire = wiper pos
green wire = wiper pos

Boost will give you an idea if/when your turbo is not performing as it should leading to lack of power and fuel consumption issues. Will give you a bit of warning that you need to check pipes, clean intercooler etc..

And yes, it looks pretty when the needle goes up and down too..:D

Taff/Storm.......I will confess at once that I will not be wiring this lot up :) I have a decent mobile auto electrician who charges by the hour.... I would only set fire to something!

Okay..... I quite like the idea now of this turbo gauge :) I can bull **** passengers and myself. So... Turbo, voltage and one oil related gauge....oil temp? or oil pressure?

Digital looks awesome. Easy to read. But sometimes just does not look right,
my own choice would be a needle.
But it all depends on what you want in gonna put pics up once done?

i had 2 volt meters for the split charge and digital temp guage in my old fender

Thats the ones WLM......They are the type that mcgillmotorsports sell on ebay and the one Raptor recommended to me.... I quite like the above for £18.50 each... cheap as chips. They also have this type for £20.25p.... www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk - Plasma Oil Pressure Gauge - Black Smoke Effect (Powered by CubeCart) or these ones for £19.00 www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk - Plasma Display Oil Pressure Gauge (Powered by CubeCart) They all look good....:) decisions! I am told they are very good value and quality.

I've got oil pressure, turbo boost pressure and water temperature on my "Mud Pod"

Wait! Why have I got water temperature there? When I swapped engines my original gauge didn't operate properly with the new sender unit - the new gauge came with it's own sender. I've now added a second voltmeter to the original dash for my second battery :)
