I have just bought a gas converted rangie 4.6 the previous owner replace 2 air bags and then rather than pay to have the air suspension reset he bought bypass valves and pumped it up. Id like to get the air suspension running again. I have the software but how how do i go about reconnecting the pipes?

Pipe with red colour code goes into number 1 position as marked on EAS box. Blue colour coded pipe goes to number 2 immediately below red pipe. Green coded pipe goes to number 4 position. Pipe with no colour goes to number 3 immediately below green pipe. Violet coded pipe (tank feed) goes to number 6 position to front of valve block.

Red= Rear right. Blue= Rear Left. Green= Front Right. No colour = Front Left.

Hi thanks for that but how do i take the valves off the end of the pipes and do they just push back in or will i need new connectors?

Depends what he has used if they are push in just push back the collar and pipe should pull out. They should just push back into valve block if he has not cut them back. Put a little washing up liquid on the pipe and push them in. If and when you get EAS working when car is up push them in a little further against air pressure to make sure they seal.

By the way don't expect it to work, you may have to do more than just plug the pipes in. He told you a little fib, you don't need to reset anything after changing air bags. You may have a bigger problem than you think.

Before disconnecting the valves ,as suggested,I would check that the necessay components are still in place. The valve block, the pump, air dryer, the air receiver under the vehicle,The EAS ecu and timer relay under the passengers seat.If these items are missing they will need to be replaced before any hope of getting The Eas to work.

As has been said you dont have to reset the EAS after a bag change,so it sounds if something else is being covered up.

I have reconnected the pipes. And reset and recalibrated the suspension and all is running good for last couple of days. No faults codes on suspension since! Maybe he was being honest? But will kwep an eye on it.

Yeah there was a few faults but mainly due to the air bags being replaced. Was lucky. Just got to clean up the brakes. Replace manifold gaskets and get it in for an mot
