Guys'n'gals,
It pains me to say it, but having had my '99 4.6 HSE for 2 years, I am thinking of moving on. She is a beautiful vehicle, and I still get stiff listening to that big bore Janspeed gurgle, and since I went to coils a year ago she has not given me one major fault or let me down, which I think is pretty good for an 80k P38.
I went offroading a couple of weekends ago, and although I didn't do any obstacles, she took every mudhole, rut and hill in her stride. I've been bitten by the bug and want to do more. Problem is, just can't get the selection of after-market parts for the P38 to properly pimp her up. Even my 2" lift has the shafts at their limit, and I can't easily source wide-angled shafts, bigger springs, diff guards, winch, roof ladders etc etc.
I am thinking about either a Disco-2 or a Defender 90. It must have a V8 cos I like noise, and we all know that power and torque is everything.
I am tending to the Disco cos I would still like to take Mrs Jock and the hellspawn to Sainsbury's in it, and she won't be chuffed with them sitting open-air in the back of a truck, or the other side of a steel plate.
Any thoughts welcome from you experienced people.
