i've been thinking maybe i would get one as my next project. i currently have a discovery that i've done a few things too but i'm reluctant to spend to much due to the vehicles age and milage.
i'm not a car expert/mechanic or complete land rover nut, but i do know some basics of cars and i also can do welding/fabrication/electrics/hydraulics/mechanics that ive learnt from being a lift engineer.

so i was thinking i would probably go for a range rover for my next car as something to do up as much as possible something similar to this maybe devon 4x4 bobtail
ive been looking on autotrader and for around 3000 you seem to be able to get a reasonable car - less than 100 thousand miles/1997ish/good mot and tax

so i guess the basic question that all this waffling is getting to is how good are the second generation range rovers to modify and use off road?
what disadvantages and advantages do they have?

cheers zac
