HELLO EVERYONE.
HOPE SOMONE COULD SHED SOME LIGHT ON A LITTLE PROBLEM WE HAVE.
ITS A RANGE ROVER SPORT 08 TDV6. IT IS SHOWING A MULTITUDE OF ERRORS ON THE MESSAGE CENTRE. ( ENGINE SYSTEM FAILURE, TRANSMISION FALURE, PARK BRAKE FAILURE, AIR SUSPENSION INACTIVE & SO ON). DIAGNOSTICS WILL ONLY GO INTO BCU, AIR SUSPENSION PARK BRAKE & STEERING ANGLE. AND ALL OF THESE SHOW COMMUNICATION ERRORS WITH OTHER MODULES. THE OTHER MODULES IE: ECM, ABS, TRANSMISION WILL NOT CONNECT TO THE DIAGNOSTICS,HAZARD LIGHTS CONTINUE TO FLASH AND THE ENGINE WILL NOT CRANK. WE SUSPECT A FAULT ON THE CAN BUS AND HAVE TRIED UNPLUGGING OTHER MODULES BUT WITH NO JOY, SO NOW WE TURN TO THE WEALTH OF KNOWLAGE FOATING AROUND THIS FORUM. ALL COMMENT WELCOME EVEN THE GALLON OF PETROL & A BOX OF ENGLANDS GLORY!!

Not too sure about the sport, but a common problem on the P38 is the the charge on the battery or wrong ampage.

When the battery loses any voltage all the error messages come up on the message board, only a thought but just check you have correct size battery or if it's fully charged

As said above, if it was a P38 I would suspect the battery. Mine showed plenty of ugly messages when the battery was dead. Do you drive only short journeys? This would be another element pointing to a dead battery. It could also be a tired alternator not charging the battery. But start with checking the battery.
CAPITAL LETTERS = TO SHOUT just in case ;)

Its not the battery, thats fully charged, the car stopped dead in the middle of the road hazards going and loads of faults on the message centre, no control modules are communicating & diagnostics says "module not available" to most modules. oh and the temp gauge is at the top as soon as you turn the ignition on.

To test your can connection find can high and can low and resistance check over the two should be 120ohm closed and 60ohm open then if it's showing down begin the unplugging modules untill the resistance returns might be 70ohm and 50 ohm respective as I am quoting higher voltage uses

I would bet my x5 you have an voltage issue. Have you tested the battery with a drop tester?. After that it will be earth straps or battery connections.

it sounds like you may be suffering from a severe case of deaf mute dismorphia it occurs in around 1% of forum posters they lose all knowledge of correct grammer and punctuation current theories centre around the cause being a lack of formal education and severe deficiency of common sense i would seek urgent medical attention if i were you

have you got a sunroof on that sport of yours, cos the drain pipes run through the rear and when they block they very happily leak into the vital areas with all the elecrics in ... might of caused the problem.

SORTED IT!!! It was corrosion in the loom to rear of vehicle causing high resistance to the can bus signal!!:):):):):):):):) just having a victory cigar!!!

Hi pls i think i am having this same problem. i wish to know if your key security light flashed aswell? mine stopped in the middle of road and i also got a dumped alternator but after replacing the alternator, the car could not still start with the hazard light keep flashing, temp gauge moves to the top, key security light flashes etc. i have also replaced the battery with a brand new of same capacity but no luck pls any little help will be counter in millions thnks in advance
