Just a quick one...

Have seen a picture of a D1 fitted with Range Rover RO-styles and wanted to check compatibility...

I have a black '95 V8 and a matching '96 300TDi. Both ES models running the standard grey 5 spoke alloys with a polished lip.

Will Range Rover RO-style wheels bolt on to my Disco(s) without any modifications? I have managed to establish that the PCD is the same.
Will there be any clearance issues between the rim and the steering gear? It is my intention to run the stock profile tyres as I don't want to modify the body.

Presumably there must be some special tapered wheel nuts I would need to purchase?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

JC.

Range rover classic will fit straight on to disco.with no issues.and same nuts.
Also defender wheels will.

Disco td5 and p38 range rover had a different setup so would need adaptor plate that bolt on to existing hub

mate of mines just had some made up to be 4" wider and they look superb. go straight on no issues if your keeping origional tyres

i think standard would look abit odd though

Why do you want to do this? It will look cr4p!! Just my opinion - it's your motor.

Current wheels are those 5 spoke grey ES wheels which don't really do anything for me and the other OEM options for D1's aren't particularly exciting either.
The only thing I could find that looked a bit different was the Range Rover RO-style and that would at least allow me to "keep it in the family" as I don't really feel like going down the aftermarket alloy route.
Besides which, my truck already looks a bit fussy with the "Discovery" script down the side, chrome side strip and arch protectors... so black and silver RO-styles (possibly with stainless embellisher rings) won't look out of place. Besides... dare to be different and all that. ;)

Interesting idea? I think an 8J rim is the recommended max for a 235 tyre.
Which direction did your pal have them widened? 2 inches both ways or are they very "deep dish"?
