Hi guy, basically I just got a RR and there is this noise that feels like car moving too ( like generator sound) I am Thinkings it's the air suspension but it goes up and down sometimes needs time and looks like struggling but good.. I don't like the noise and no signs have come up on the dash... Please help what could that be!!!????

The noise is basically when the air suspensions are going up it makes that noise but this noise is constant... It's like is the suspensions working while driving...

Knackered compressor? Try opening your bonnet & removing the compressor cover with engine running. Make sure all doors are closed.

It varies.. I paid £215 for mine, but you can pick them up a lot cheaper ie- EBay for secondhand one, prob £90 ish? Is it on it's bump stops in the morning when you go to it?

Cez,

The car drive fine and lift fine and drops fine but when driving or engine on stationary the sound of air suspension are heard and it gets loud feels like the car shakes a little.. I am thinking it could be the air bags or seal... What do you think of that.. Spoke to someone else and they told me that the RR does self levelling when your on the move..

It does.. & also when stationary with engine & handbrake on.. but it shouldnt be juddering the whole car. can you listen from where the noise is coming from if you lift the bonnet up?

If you're certain that it's coming from the air suspension then the only thing that moves at any speed is the compressor. Check that someone hasn't tightened the 10mm mounting bolts too tight. The compressor should be sitting on three rubber mounts and there should be cupped washers and you don't over-tighten the mounting bolts.

Hang on, I picked this up through LZ-LIVE, I didn't realise that you were in the engines section. Get into the Range Rover section, that's where this should be and where you'll find the real RR wizards.

The noise isn't heard when you open the bonnet but when you in the cockpit that's when it can be heard, sounds like coming from the left front side of the car...

I am definite that the noise isn't coming from the engine, it's sound the same as when the car lifts or tries too!!!
