Hi Rover here, i have a couple of problems, which might or might not be related.
A number of months ago,i noticed that my tyres were scrabbling when i was turning a tight corner, after reading the forum i believe i may have a seized viscous coupling, now i have found that i have lost drive to the front diff, prop is turning but no drive.
First of all,how important is the viscous coupling, and if i do not get it changed/repaired,what are the likely consequences?
Can i run the vehicle without fear of any further probs?
How much will a new/2nd hand one cost, and how easy/difficult is it to replace, hours required fo completion of job?
The front diff,i presume a half shaft spline has sheared,or, if the coupling has died, does that mean that drive to the front axle is now non existant, and my half shafts may be ok.
Any suggestions, or ideas to solve these probs, will be much appreciated.
Regards to all,
Rover.
