range rover diffs in series 3

I've got a swb series 3, the previous owner has put RR diffs in it, what is envolved in taking the RR diffs out, and going back to series diffs? do you have to do anything clever? "my brain doesn't enjoy working at weekends!" Are there any shims or washers that are likely to make a bid for freedom?

Any help would be appreciated.

i'm going back to series diffs because, i want it as a towing/ off road land rover i will never do any mileage in it. so i want the original ratios.

Unless they are P38 diffs they are all the same ratio. Might be cheaper/easier to change gearbox ratio. Take a look at Legs website

I have a SIII, what do Rang diffs give you that the SIII didn't?
I would like a little more top speed(frightening but true) - we could do a swap - what do you want?

I put R/R diffs in my lightwieght, the best thing I ever done, quiter at 50 mph and better on fuel.
