anglesey,
Hi
Just been offered over the phone a rangie classic, (year unknown cos i forgot to ask, believed to be a 3.9efi). The car has been standing a fair while and from what the guy was saying it appears to be locked in 'park', the selector moves, but seems a tad loose. Is it possible that he's wrenched the selector and broken a linkage or does it sound more serious? I know nothing about Rangies, is there access to the top of the gearbox from inside, so I could see if anything seems broke?
Any suggestions gratefully recieved, otherwise it's doomed for the scrap.
Thanks
Rick

no access for rod is underneath ,you can check linkage to box ,access to park brake itself is through rear housing which requires removal of transfer box
